Remembering my dolls, doll carriage and doll house. Also popular and good for hours of play was “jump rope” (alone and with others). Spent a lot of time playing jacks and cards with my cousins. Beginning card game was “Old Maid”.

It’s interesting how simple our toys were when we were young. Jacks, cards, jump ropes, hula hoops, yo-yos, marbles, and slinky. No batteries, no electronics, no noise.
Slinky! Play Dough! Monopoly! Etch-a-Sketch! Not a toy, but….MAD magazine! Maybe you could do a segment on what we read.

All boys my age wanted to be just like Hopalong Cassidy–dressed all in black with 2 shiny sixshooters ready to rescue fair maidens in distress–but, alas, none of us had that white horse to make it all possible.
